About Us

I was born in Provence, South of France, a country known for its gastronomy, bread, pastry and cakes. After a long corporate career in finance in Tokyo I decided to pursue my passion and train in pastry at French culinary school “Le Cordon Bleu”. In 2015 I came to this beautiful island to open Sri Lanka’s first and only authentic French bakery.

Baguette French Bakery established in 2016 specializes in sourdough bread (natural leavened dough) and pastry items. Our qualified, mainly foreign trained, production staff are working deep into the night to make fresh daily over 50 high quality products at our production center in Kohuwala. With us you can embark on the French way of life as there is nothing like biting into a buttery, flaky croissant or a crunchy sourdough baguette! Besides our products we retail a wide range of local products that complement our range : cheese, jam, charcuterie, meat spreads, chocolate, coffee etc. You can visit Baguette French Bakery & Café at 31 Queens Road, Colombo 3 (Elegance Bldg). Discover delicious sourdough breads, pastries, savory items, tarts, cakes & sweets, and our extensive café menu, and enjoy friendly and efficient service in a cosy, lively environment. A piece of France in the heart of Colombo ! We are delighted to announce that in May 2024 we will expand to Galle town with onsite baking facilities.
